Stillday is a simple app, so there isn't much that can go wrong. Pick a category, or read the whole thing top to bottom — five minutes, give or take.

Getting started

Two things. First, an entry is light enough that a single line counts — you never have to build it up into a proper piece of writing. Second, it doesn't push you. No streaks, no consecutive-day counters, no ranking. Only when the same date comes round next year does it hand that day back to you.

No. Download it, open it and write — all of it works offline. And because there is no account, your entries belong to this device alone, which also means we have no way to recover them for you.

It's free. No in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads or recommendation feed in the interface. Every core feature is open to everyone.

Entries

One line is the default. If you feel like it, add a mood, a few tags, a photo. You can also save nothing but the line — Stillday fills in the time for you.

Yes. Pick that day in the calendar, then tap the plus, and the entry lands on that date instead of today. Catching up is never marked as "late" — Stillday has no such concept.

Open the entry to edit or delete it. Deletion is permanent — there's no recycle bin on the device, so take one extra second before you tap.

On This Day

Once every morning, at the top of the Today page, with what you wrote on this date one year ago and three years ago. It won't interrupt you again for the rest of the day.

There's only something to give back if you actually wrote on this date in a previous year. The first year is empty. That's normal.

Yes. With it off, nothing appears at the top of the Today page, but the entries themselves stay in Memory Walk and you can always scroll back to them. You can also revoke the system notification permission on its own, in your phone's settings.

Memory Walk & Calendar

Memory Walk lists your entries day by day, so you can see how the days join up. The calendar marks every day you wrote with a single dot, so you can see which days are still blank.

The top of Memory Walk switches by month. Tags group your entries, and tapping one shows you every day of that kind. Full-text search across months isn't built yet.

Memory Walk loads month by month by design, so ten years of entries shouldn't stutter. If it does start to feel slow one day, send us your device model and OS version and we'll look into it.

Data & Backup

No. Stillday has no server-side storage at all. Your entries are encrypted and kept inside the app sandbox on this device. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

On the old phone, export a backup from Settings — you can add a password to it. Move the file to the new phone, then import it in a freshly installed Stillday. None of it passes through our servers.

No. Uninstalling removes every entry along with the app. So if you want to keep those days, export a backup first.

Download & Install

iOS 15.0 or later, and Android 8.0 or later. iPad and foldables follow the platform's native layout.

It's still going through app-store review; once there's a date it will be posted on the download page. Until then you can use the web version, which has the same features.

First check that your system meets the versions above, then update to the latest release from the store. If it still crashes, write to us with your device model, OS version and roughly when it happened, and we'll work through the logs.
